He'Brew Bittersweet Lenny's R.I.P.A.

Shmaltz Brewing Company ABV: 10%
Named after the potty-mouthed funnyman Lenny Bruce, this coppery double IPA is capped by a beige head, with a scent that calls to mind caramel, citrus, pine, and a thick slice of rye bread. Sip it to explore a world of honey, biscuits, and citrus bitterness. The R.I.P.A. on Rye variant is aged in oak barrels that once held rye whiskey.

Hop Rod Rye

Bear Republic Brewing Co. ABV: 8%
Bear Republic often experiments with rye, most notably in the aggressive Hop Rod. It zooms from the bottle a deep amber, its unabashedly floral fumes—citrus, pine—laced with traces of caramel and spice. Taste-wise, bitterness is balanced by a sweet-spicy profile and a peppery finish rooted in earth. (If you spot the Ryevalry Belgian- style IPA on draft at your local bar, we'd advise you to order a pint.)
